Eerie Shores Hearse Club

I suppose there are some people who think it's morbid just to own a hearse or ambulance. Not true! Most hearse owners are fun people. But if you like truly scary, creepy, horrifying, teeth-on-edge true facts, here are some sites:

One of the most interesting is The Asylum Eclectica, run by The Comtesse DeSpair. It's a one-stop-shop for diseases, atrocities, murder, crime, you name it, presented with style and humor! And if that isn't enough, you can subscribe to her Morbid Fact du Jour service, and have terribly true chilling facts sent (almost) daily for free!

Be sure to check out her All Things Dark and Grusome links, too- just the thing for rainy-day (or sunny-day if you can't face the light) fun!

What's a visit to Texas without a trip to the National Museum of Funeral History? Treat the kids to educational displays on the history of embalming, see the beautiful 1860 German "Glaswagen" Funeral Coach and 1926 Sayers & Scovill Funeral Coach, See John F. Kennedy's original eternal flame (not that new upsart eternal flame in Arlington!) See the latest models of fantasy coffins, and historical ones that are still in pretty good shape. Much better than a moldy old science museum!
Sleeping Beauty II- No, we're not talking about the fairy tale or the Disney movie! This is vintage postmortem photography. Perhaps you remember the photos in the 2001 movie The Others? Better get your own copy before it goes out of print- the original Sleeping Beauty book fetches bone-chilling prices.
